The graduating student have DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment) seminar last November 24, 2011 at 1:00 PM at NSL room from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The said event was successfully participated by graduating students, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The event was started by an opening remark by Mr. Berney who introduced their company and talked there some activities. The first speaker was Engr. Juliana M. Ortega who discussed about LEGS (Labor Education for Graduating Students). Which she tackled about the responsibilities of the employer and his/her employee, and the rules and regulations between them. It was then immediately followed by Mrs. Marijo Cordova who discussed about Employment Guide. She tackled the five keys to finding a job, first write a winning resume, prepare well for interviews, be organized, access the hidden job market, and be adaptable. She discussed the do’s and don’ts in job interview, the four steps to write our winning resume first step understand posted qualifications and write down your matching competencies, second step gather all certifications, third step seek credible references, and the last is organize the gathered information and data into a clear functional resume. She also discussed how the applicants must wear appropriate clothing and proper behavior of an applicant. The event was ended by picture taking.
